Scrimage is inspired by the namesake behind Larry Leisure—equal parts social responsibility, curiosity, and play. Scrimage is about the game before the game; coming together to have fun without all the pressure. We believe in functionality, discreet utility, and thoughtful design and production for our fellow shorts enthusiasts out there.
Our shorts are produced in small batches at our ISO 9000 certified garment factory in Bangkok, Thailand. The same factory produces NBA in-game jerseys. Through our longstanding family connection to this factory, we discovered that there were rolls and rolls of high-quality surplus nylon fabric in storage—not enough to put to use in typical large-scale production, but just enough to make limited runs of our favorite article of clothing: shorts. By using materials already at the factory, we limit carbon emissions caused by sourcing and shipping, and make use of fabric that would otherwise go to waste.
We recognize that nylon is harmful to the environment, so our mission is to only use existing surplus nylon material, and to eventually source a recyclable fabric that is suitable for our designs. Until then, our design and construction ensures that this is the only pair of nylon shorts you’ll need for years to come. To offset some of the negative impact of nylon, 10 percent of all profits are donated to Trash Hero Thailand, a registered non-profit community-based organization that mobilizes weekly volunteer beach cleanups, implements community education programs on plastic waste, and provides sustainable alternatives to single-use plastics. Scrimage also ships all our shorts without any plastic packaging in an effort to minimize the use of single-use plastics.
Our shorts come in ever-changing, carefully curated colors, and are packable, reversible, and quick-drying for the ultimate utility and all-day, all-night wear, whether underwater or on the streets. We love them and wear them daily and hope you will too. We strive to always be learning and growing and believe that the customer should be a part of the design, sustainability, and transparency process. Please feel free to send us an email with any ideas for improvement!
